Meet Dr. Monica Friske-Marshall
Chiropractic care for people & animals, inspired by a lifelong love of movement.
Hi, I’m Dr. Monica Friske-Marshall, chiropractor and owner of Simply Chiropractic. I help both humans and animals move more freely, feel more comfortable, and live more fully through gentle, thoughtful chiropractic care.
For me, chiropractic isn’t just a career—it’s a calling that started when I was a kid.
My Path to Chiropractic Care
I was first introduced to chiropractic principles when I was 11 years old, and they immediately resonated with me. At the time, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. I loved animals, especially horses, and I knew I wanted to spend my life helping them.
Everything changed when I was 14 and watched a horse receive a chiropractic adjustment.
This horse was distressed and uncomfortable. Traditional veterinary care just wasn’t resolving the issue. Then, after one chiropractic adjustment, I saw that same horse transform—relaxed, more at ease, and clearly more comfortable.
That moment stuck with me. I realized there was another way to support the health and performance of both animals and their human partners. I decided to become a chiropractor so I could serve both communities in a different capacity than what Western medicine alone could provide.
Life Outside the Clinic
Outside of Simply Chiropractic, I’m a wife, mom, and lifelong animal lover.
I’m blessed with two beautiful daughters, who also ride and show—so our lives are happily filled with time at the barn and in the arena. Our family includes:
-
A German Shorthaired Pointer
-
Two horses
-
And usually a little bit of horse hair on everything we own
When we’re not at the barn or in the clinic, we love to garden, hike, and do just about anything outdoors. Nature, movement, and animals are at the center of our family life, just as they are at the heart of my work.
Education & Professional Training
I’ve always believed that if I’m going to care for people and their animals, I need to bring the highest level of training and professionalism to the table.
My education and credentials include:
-
B.S. in Exercise Science – East Tennessee State University (ETSU), 2010
This foundation in human movement, anatomy, and physiology has shaped the way I look at the body—as an integrated, dynamic system. -
Doctor of Chiropractic – Sherman College of Chiropractic, 2014
At Sherman, I deepened my understanding of the nervous system and the power of chiropractic adjustments to support the body’s natural ability to heal and function. -
Post-Doctoral Animal Chiropractic Studies – Options for Animals, 2014
I completed advanced training at Options for Animals in Kansas, the original animal chiropractic school. This allowed me to specialize in chiropractic care for animals, especially horses and dogs. -
Certification – American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), 2014
In 2014, I sat for and passed my exams to become AVCA certified, ensuring that my animal chiropractic work meets strict standards of competency and safety.
With this blend of human and animal chiropractic training, I’m able to support the whole partnership—from the rider in the saddle to the horse under them, or the person at the other end of the leash.
At Healing Chiropractic our chiropractic group is prepared to address with you to talk about your issues. We will outline a program that is appropriate for you. We anticipate meeting you.
